I believe that my different careers and life experiences have given me the necessary skills to be an extremely effective celebrant for every type of occasion. I try to be a nice bloke and I hate injustice and prejudice wherever I see it. My pronouns are He/Him and I’m a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community. Really, I just want people to be happy, whoever they are, and if I can help you I will certainly give it all I’ve got to make it the very best experience.

First things first, I cannot legally marry you. In England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Independent Celebrants cannot perform legally binding marriages or civil partnerships. You must involve a registrar and have a separate legal ceremony. Some couples these days choose to go to a Register Office (with just their witnesses and maybe immediate family) and sign the register in the presence of a registrar. Then, later they have a celebrant-led ceremony attended by all friends and family, where they say their vows, swap rings, listen to readings and music special to them and to all intents and purposes celebrate their wedding. Secondly, there are two types of celebrant; Humanist and Independent. Humanist celebrants offer non-religious ceremonies rooted in Humanist principles that do not include any religious or faith-based content at all. As an Independent celebrant, I can offer you a personalised ceremony tailored to your preferences. Whether you’re in a mixed-faith relationship, you’re celebrating the life of someone who was religious but wanted an alternative funeral, or you’re an atheist who likes hymns, carols, prayers and Bible readings, I can accommodate you.
